Welcome to the 2016 Silver Lake Triathlon

The Silver Lake Triathlon is a great course for all levels of athletes. The race starts at beautiful Silver Lake and continues in the gently rolling countryside of Portage, Wisconsin. Each participant will receive swag and refreshments.

All levels of participants are welcome. We encourage beginners and newbies to get their feet wet.

Information


Parking is available in designated lots on Silver Lake Dr. THERE IS NO PARKING ON SILVER LAKE DR. You will be allowed to be dropped off at the transition area until 6:30am. No cars will be allowed through after this time.
At 5:30am Check-in/Packet p-up will begin and transition will open, CHECK-IN first.


Release Waiver

At packet pick up EVERY participant must sign a release waiver. Relay teams PLEASE come to check-in together (hold hands if nessesary) to insure each member gets the waiver signed. Participants UNDER 18, come to check-in with a Parent to sign waiver and then you will receive your timing chip. Everyone gets body marked. If you registered after Aug. 14 you may have to wait till post race to check availiblity of t-shirt.

Transition is only open to athletes. We only have a limited amount of space. There will be a designated area for Olympic, Elite, etc... first come first serve. No family or friends allowed in transition please. We would also ask that you be curtious to your fellow participants and not take up "camp" in the transition area.

Swim

The wave starts (to be determined) will contain between 10-40 people. You must wear the colored cap provided to you at packet pick-up as it corresponds to your wave. You will not be able to touch the bottom of the lake beyond 20 feet of the start. The bright colored caps will help our swim staff to keep track of everyone.
Wetsuits will be allowed. No other swim aids will be allowed.

Bike
Helmets must be worn. Chin straps must be buckled before mounting your bike. No recumbants or trikes. Mount at the designated area, NOT in the transition area. The course is out and back. It is marked with arrow signs and Bright tape.
NO IPODS, MP3, or CELL PHONES on the Bike course. This is for your safety. This is not a closed course. Officers and volunteers will assist you through intersections. Please be patient, curtious and respectful.

Run

A water station will be about half way. The course is out and back. It is marked with cones, arrow signs and Bright tape. Please wear a shirt. NO IPODS, MP3, or CELL PHONES on the RUN course. This is for your safety. This is not a closed course. Officers and volunteers will assist you through intersections. Please be patient, curtious and respectful.

Weather
Rain or shine. In the event of lightning we will delay, adjust and or cancel as we see fit for the safety of all. No refunds. No Transfers.
